New refill station at the shop
If you’re a regular to our shop then you would have noticed we have made a few changes over the past few months. We started with a revamp of our dog section, getting rid of some very old display units that were older than me as we discovered some names and a date of 1982 behind the unit of when the last alterations were made! This has allowed us to not only increase our range of collars, leads, toys and coats, we have also introduced some yummy new treats from Fish 4 Dogs, Green and Wilds and a lovely range of all natural veggies treats. An update was well and truly due, and after 2 days of dismantling and then a complicated puzzle to erect the new display, we finally got the new stands up and are so pleased with the new arrangements of products instore. And just encase you missed it, all the small animal and wild bird food from in the middle of the shop is now located in the new entrance area.
The second part of our shop transformation was our clothing and equine section. We have had a few changes over the years in this part of the shop, but this has been the biggest by far. We have relocated our rug stand to make room in the clothing section, and yes you guessed it, after having our first baby we will now be stocking a range of children’s country and equine clothing. We are also excited to be introducing a new range by the way of Lighthouse clothing. Designed in Northern Ireland, they know about wet and windy weather and their waterproof clothing is crafted with both design, style and practicality in mind for all outdoor adventures. Our country store department has everything you need to get out and about in our beautiful countryside no matter what the weather, so if your looking for a new waterproof coat for you or your little one, a pair of boots or wellingtons we’ve got you covered. Our shop might still be small, however we are one of the largest family owed independent country stores in Dorset and carry a full size range of all items on display. We also have a great range of outdoor and equine clothing, and have plenty more colour and size options available on our online store at www.vinescountry.co.uk which you can get click and collect into store or have delivered direct to your door.
The latest change we have made is our biggest by far. We are so proud to finally be introducing a refill station to include a whole range of store cupboard staples from rice, pasta, to lentils and confectionary, to cleaning and cosmetic products from Ecover and Faith In Nature. Reducing waste and plastic consumption has been on our agenda since I took on running the company 10 years ago. We took huge steps in reducing our plastic use across the store from stopping wrapping fruit and vegetables in plastic, recycling all the plastic packaging that comes into us, and offering refill of horse related products. To fit the huge new unit into the store we had to do some reorganisation which did seem like a huge upheaval when things have been the same for so long. However so far it has been well worth the effort with great feedback on the new layout, hopefully making for an easier shopping experience along with the chance for plastic free shopping! For any newbies such as myself to using a refillable station, the digital scales will run through the whole process with you, or feel free to speak to a member of our team, or we have some helpful videos on our social media platforms.
We hope you like our new changes in store, and look forward to seeing you.
